Claude & ChatGPT

Connect CoachPal to an AI assistant and plan with it in conversation: review your athletes' calendars, build workouts and programs, and find exercises in your library.

Claude

  1. Open Claude on the web or desktop and go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it CoachPal and paste the connector URL above.
  4. Select Connect. Claude opens CoachPal so you can sign in.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an admin may need to allow custom connectors first.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT.
  2. Select Add in the top right, then Create custom MCP server.
  3. Set Name to CoachPal.
  4. Under Connection, keep Server URL selected and paste the connector URL above.
  5. Leave Authentication set to OAuth.
  6. Check I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
  7. Follow the prompt to sign in to CoachPal.

On Business and Enterprise workspaces, an admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first.

Step 2: Choose what it can access

After you sign in, CoachPal asks which organization to connect and what the app may do. Expand any row to switch it to view-only or turn it off. Access is limited to that one organization.

Athletes
Your athletes' profiles, goals, injuries, medical conditions and limitations. This includes health information.
Calendars and workouts
Your athletes' calendars, workouts and what they logged. With edit access, it can create, change and remove workouts.
Programs
The programs in your library. With edit access, it can create programs and change their days and workouts.
Exercise library
Searching exercises, so it can use the ones in your library when building workouts.

What you can ask

Talk to it like you would an assistant coach. For example:

  • “Show me what Sara has scheduled this week and how last week's sessions went.”
  • “Build Omar a 4-day upper/lower week starting Monday. Keep his shoulder injury in mind.”
  • “Find a few hamstring exercises in my library that need no equipment.”
  • “Move Friday's workout for Lina to Saturday and make Friday a rest day.”

The app can only do what you allowed. If it says it can't do something, check its permissions.

Change access or disconnect

Go to Settings → Connected Apps in CoachPal. You can change what each app may do or disconnect it. Changes apply right away.

Turn AI apps off for your organization

Owners and admins can turn AI apps off for everyone in the organization from Settings → Organization. Turn it back on and existing connections start working again right away, with the same permissions.

Privacy

A connected app only sees what you allowed, and only in the organization you chose. What it reads, such as an athlete's training history or injuries, becomes part of your conversation and is handled under that app's privacy policy, as well as ours. Turn off Athletes access if you don't want health information shared.

Troubleshooting

The sign-in page says it can't connect

Remove the connector in your AI app and add it again with the URL above.

It can't see something, or a feature is missing

The permission is probably off. Turn it on in Connected Apps, then start a new conversation.

It says AI apps are turned off

An owner or admin in your organization has turned AI apps off. Ask them to turn it on in Settings → Organization. You don't need to reconnect afterwards.

It stopped working

If you disconnected it, or left the organization, connect it again from your AI app.
